Payback

In cases where Access Copyright cannot identify the rightsholder or where it is impossible or impractical to collect information on the actual works used, we allocate a portion of these royalties via Payback ^TM. Additionally, 15% of all revenue available for distribution is also allocated to publisher and creator affiliates in recognition of the value that they contribute to our repertoire.   

The Payback formula is calculated in two steps.

Step One - 40% of the Payback pool is distributed equally amongst all creators.

Step Two - 60% of the Payback pool is distributed to writers and visual artists depending on what they published and how much they published. The more you publish, the greater your Payback payment.

You will be eligible for Payback as long as you affiliated with Access Copyright by the end of the previous year.

For example, if you become an affiliate of Access Copyright by December 31, 2011, you will be eligible for Payback starting in 2012.

Additionally, you must complete the annual reporting form to receive a full Payback payment.
